Here we go again..... Againnnnnn ;) ;)

So here I'm again... much better than how I was before the 100days experiment... My planned 2 week vacation extended to a 3 week vacation... My foresight of over eating was absolutely true... But surprise surprise.... I jogged like hell during that time... I thought I wasn't going to have a place or company in my village... but as the luck would have it... I found both... After couple of days of missing to jog, I came to know about some of my childhood friends who started going on morning walk one was just my neighbor... So I found company but in my small village, I thought I wouldn't find a place to jog, the dirt roads, the rocky nature of the terrain wasn't promising at all... I started off with a road, but after a week found another place, which was a inclined hill atop of which stood a university... the road is like any other university, laid on a million years ago, the soil underneath visible everywhere... hardly perfect for jogging or so I thought... I was scared for my left ankle... and I didn't even take my usual jogging shoes... I just had my flat sneakers... they were new... But they felt so great while running...  I always heard about hill training and how it is good for your strength and for improving your running form, but I never ran any road other than my regular one back in the town where I lived... So I took on my new running course without knowing how challenging it will be... but I understood it the very first time I did the uphill... I enjoyed running there so much... The elevation increased my heart rate exponentially like it had never gotten before... Its length was probably around 400 to 500 meters... The uphill used to be excruciating but I could relax while going downhill... So the awesome unexpected morning run began... On my average day I managed to do the uphill and downhill combined 8 to 9 rounds in about 35 to 40mins... on my best day I did 13 rounds... then I came back from my vacation on Dec 13th and I not only maintained my weight despite of the loads and loads of food I ate but I also increased my leg strength and the new course showed me new possibilities, I missed it for days after my return.... I missed swimming though, so I booked my tickets to allow a day in the pool... So I came back tried running, I couldn't get the satisfaction even after doing 5kms because my heart rate never raised to the level that I got used to by now... thoroughly enjoyed 3 hours of pool time that day... So I got back on to my routine well, and I was sure I didn't need the blog anymore... but boy was I wrong... ankle pain started again, lot of pressure from other corners.. couldn't keep up both running and swimming... Slowly running started taking back seat... Then my back started aching a little, swimming was fine running doesn't seem to be possible... I did take long walks every now and then... Ate a lot of unnecessary food for sure and there was no place to confess since I stopped writing here... again few more problems of the heart... in spite of all this thanks to some miracle my weight stayed constant at 95... An aching heart is hard to carry around... but a broken spirit is unbearable... Thanks to god... I'm just aching and broken at places but definitely my spirit is intact and strong... So here we go again, this time 6months is the period 10kgs is the target... All rules are the same and the experiment start on 17th.... in between the last couple of months I turned 31... Visited my spine doctor, he was very happy to see my small weight loss, he asked me to loose 8more kg before he can allow me to do a half marathon... Hoping to do this by July... I kind of had my first GF (embarrassing I know... but not uncommon in the country I'm from) for 3days that was 2days ago... then she freaked out and got out... because she realized that she is still to get over the last guy... Beginner's luck yaaaayyyy .... anyway she is still very much a friend... no grudges... managed to learn swimming did the full length of the pool 3 times till now... but cant breath yet.... so I still hold my breath and swim as long as I can... trying to learn to breath, lets see how it goes.... spending 3hours on weekends in the pool... that really helps... Checked my weight after the pool time today, I'm at 94.... Planning to loose the rest of the 4 very soon and then will buy a bicycle... March 1st moving into a new flat, its a huge society of flats, with jogging tracks, a running group, a swimming pool and a Gold's Gym nearby... So hoping to do this in a much more serious manner in the next 6months.... Work is as usual, a dear friend is getting married next week, but cant go... too much on my head... need to clear my head and get into a good running rhythm soon.... Kind of left my French classes hanging in the air have to start them again soon... Had plans to go for a study tour to France, but it got cancelled.... so lets hope I can achieve all the goals.... Lets see how these 180 days go.... Time to get my shit straight and take these 180days seriously... Tomorrow is the party day... going to eat a lot of bad shit ... :) :) ... the preparation day ..... :) :) ... wish me luck...

Day - 87 to Day - 100

Entry for 12/04/2013 to 12/17/2013    ---  Alright finally I'm here to update... I changed my shift to accommodate swimming, but that left me with very little time for anything else... Okay that's not entirely true... I've had enough time to play my Facebook game Criminal Case.... Had spent significant time on it, but been keeping away from writing the blog... A cold wave of the winter hit my city, that hampered my morning routine and doesn't prove to be conducive for running.... I managed only 4 days of running since December 1st.... But ensured that i kept swimming.... I swam for 13 days in total (this is till 21st).... Let me tell you this.... I can do freestyle now.... couple of weekend days i spent more than 3hours on each day and that really helped me get rid of my fear for water.... I regret that i didnt write the blog regularly, it would have been a nice jorney from those initial days when i was so bad and scared in just a 4feet of water.... Now i ca float freely, do a little bit of breast stroke, but cant synchronize my legs with hands... I find this stroke very relaxing.... I can do a freestroke well, legs and hands are in control, and i cover good distance... But breathing is still a problem, i can cross the width of the pool in one breath... but for crossing the length need at least one stop to take breath.... Cant bring my head up to take breath or exhale in water yet.... hoping to do this soon... Have broken food rules few times, may be a little more frequently that the normal days... But the over all adherence has been fair... All in all when i checked my weight at the end, i have lost 5kgs... I'm pretty happy with this number... But this wasnt the real target, I'm miles better compared to my lifestyle 3 months ago... I complete two 10ks in Marathons and did 10k on my own 3 times... Increased my distance and improved my time for 10k well... I'm happy with my own progress, but i do see lot of things i could have done.... All in all i would deem the experiment a success... I'm going to continue the same.... this time may be with a little bit more vigour... Right now on a 2 week vacation to my hometown... where I'm constructing a house for my parents... This would be done in 15 days.... Here to love and show hospitality means to feed someone to the point of killing them then and there... So I'm certain I'll put on some weight by the time I'm back to the town when I live... So I'll restart the experiment again from January 6th 2014.... Hopefully without putting on too much weight... Planning to continue running and swimming... Hoping to add Cycling once my weight goes below 90... Lets see when i can do it... Looking forward for the next 100 days and to get more healthy... Lets see how this goes...

Day - 86

Entry for 12/03/2013--- Okay the Swimming day !!!! slept late but wokeup early to start swimming, there is a 4feet pool in my office campus... its been there for 5years i never set my foot anywhere near it... but starting today i want to spend sometime with this beautiful aquatic creature... so went to office at 8am, put on my new swimming costume, with new swimming goggles, headband and an upper and lower swimming costume to cover my gigantic being... i did my first swimming lesson... Boy did I suck really bad... i tested the patience of my friend who was trying to teach me the first lesson of swimming, FLOATING... i was so bad at it... its very hard to override the hardwired instinct that tells u that u r drowning and screms at u to find solid ground... after many attempts i couldnt do what her asked me to successfully, and everytime i rushed to reach the ground, i hurt my leg... both my legs have cramps now... its a little embaressing that all this happend in 4feet of water ... but hey I'm glad to have tried it and wont be giving up easily... i have bigger plans with swimming, hopefully i can learn to do it in next 3 months... so will take rest tomorrow and start swimming again from the day after... lunch had 4 thin flat bread with cauliflower curry, had a spinach dosa with potato salad in the evening, no dinner... looking forward for a good night's sleep...

Day - 85

Entry for 12/02/2013  --- there arent a lot of pains, so thats good... went to office, took my medal, wokeup around 9am... ate a lot of fried rice in the afternoon with chicken... didnt eat anything for dinner, wasnt hungry at all... a slow day... nothing much to update... starting swimming tomorrow... Tomorrow is the first lesson... excited about it...

Day - 84

Entry for 12/01/2013 --- Race day!!!! Despite of my best efforts couldnt get enough sleep last night, and before the race tried to run a little to see how my back was holding up, it wasnt very promising, i havent run well for the last 2 weeks owing to ankle pains and fear of an impending ankle injury... so lot of negetives going into the race, anyway i started the race with 1300 other people, so in that rush you have to run... so i started running, everything seemed to settle down and there were no pains atleast not in unbearable proportions, so I continued to run for 2 or 2.5 kms, when the most unexpected and stupidest of all reasons stopped my run... my shoe lace on my left foot was loose... it was danglish from left to right, i ignored it for a while, but it presents the danger of a fall plus every one running past me was telling me about it, so ultimately i had to stop... get it tied again and walk for few moments so that the heaviness in my legs can wear off before i strat running, also had to take loo break... so i wasted about 5mins for all this... surprisingly my ankles didnt hurt... i guess it was good decision to rest for few days... or it might just be my laziness talking either way, i was doing well, running more and walking less compared to my previous attempt on october 6th... The crowd support was amazing that also kept me going... So i finished with a time of 97mins... 7 mins above the target i had in mind but i'm happy with it... considering all the negatives I'm happy with the time... now the target is to train harder and get inside 90mins... will try it out... post the race had a breakfast of a sadwich, fruit juice and a couple of bananas and plenty of water... didnt wanted to stay home and laze around on the bed, so went out for a big lunch in the afternoon, had fish, chicken and prawns with flour made flat bread and rice flour pancakes and a lot of buttermilk... then went out for shopping with my friends for a laptop... in the evening had a team dinner, where i had only a little bit of starters and desert... winding up the day slept early... REST tomorrow :) :)... was a good day...

Day - 83

Entry for 11/30/2013 ---  slept till 2:30pm... had a long long sleep, well deserved... woke up couple of times in between when my back ache soared, but felt better than last night after that lengthy sleep.... Icing on the cake was that my lunch was already prepared, so had lunch and stayed on bed all afternoon and the evening just to make sure i don't aggravate my back... Had Rice with yellow Lentil stew all day for lunch and dinner with some scrambled eggs... Carbs build up in my body must be good now... but I'm not sure how my body will react tomorrow... I'm scared of doing some damage during the run... but cant give up on the 10k... it all seems so much of a cliche... anyway looking forward for tomorrow, not sure if i can realistically achieve my 90mins target, but will try my best....

Day - 82

Entry for 29/12/2013 --- Wanted to take leave from office today and just rest to get my back pain in control... but as fate would have it, got a call from some rare visit to my office, so went in 2hrs early... and ended up working for 12hrs... :( :(  ... still feeling the pain at the end of the day, have to be on bed entire day tomorrow to have any chance of running on Sunday... Sleepin very late hope to sleep till afternoon of tomorrow... Food had kind of 2 lunches, didnt have any dinner, guess had an orange...
